Snake Pictures

This is Max's pet Red Diamondback.  This has appeared on Walker Texas Ranger a number of times and has even bit Chuck Norris.The snake is devenomized (venom glands removed - fangs intact!).but don't think a bite still doesn't hurt.

These next photos are of the same snake found in the Ventana Wilderness north of San Simeon in California.  We were hiking in one of the old growth redwood forests and I saw this guy exactly as you see him below crawling through a root on a side of a hill.  We had plenty of time to capture him in his natural habitat.  I found a similar snake only 3 times as big just days before on an epic 22 mile solo trail run.  This was one of the best herp weeks I can ever remember.
